my new HP HPC8e7AC printer and scan installed on Windows 11 all of a sudden will not scan

Scanner was installed but all will not work anymore.  What could be wrong its listed on Apps?

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help resolve the issue where your HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer is no longer scanning on Windows 11, even though it's listed in your apps:

Use HP Smart’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

HP Smart includes a built-in tool that can automatically detect and fix common scanning issues.

1. Open the HP Smart app on your PC. If you don’t have it, download it from the Microsoft Store.
2. Click the wrench icon (bottom left corner).
3. Select Diagnose & Fix.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Restart Devices

• Restart your printer and your computer.
• Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your PC.

Check Windows Services

Sometimes the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service may be disabled.

1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
2. Scroll to Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).
3. Right-click > Properties > Set Startup type to Automatic.
4. Click Start if the service is not running.

Reinstall the Printer Driver

Corrupted drivers can cause scanning to stop working.

1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
2. Remove the HP OfficeJet 8015e.
3. Download and install the latest full driver from Official HP® Support

Check for Windows Updates

Make sure your Windows 11 is fully updated:

• Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.
