help please with getting my officejet 5740 to copy - scans and prints but wont copy

Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that your HP Officejet 5740 printer produces blank copies.  I would like to help you resolve this issue.

 

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

 

Reset the printer.

  1. Remove any items from the scanner glass and automatic document feeder (ADF), then close the scanner lid.

  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.

  3. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  4. Plug the power cord back into a wall outlet.

       NOTE:

    HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet.

  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.

  6. If you have an HP DeskJet 3700 series printer, calibrate the scanner after resetting the printer.

  7. Load the original document or photo, then try to copy.

Clean the scanner.

Clean the ADF rollers.

Change the copy settings.

Change the paper settings.

 

Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.

My Officejet HP 5740 copies 7/8" to the right for all that the Margin shift is set to off.  I have tried unplugging and replugging the printer into different sockets which makes no difference.   When using as a printer this problem does not occur. Help!
