I have a new HP 2300 series scanner and printer and upgraded my PC to windows 11 

The printer works fine with no issues when i turn it on occasionally 

However i need to use scan doctor every time i want to scan for the day.

Hi,
From the search bar type CMD, right-click on Command-Line and select Run as Administrator, be sure to confirm any prompt by pressing Yes.

Past the following command and press enter:

Sc config stisvc depend= rpcss/ShellHWDetection

Now restart your computer and try scanning, may you see any difference?

For some reason i didn't need to use the  scan doctor again today  for scanning  when  turning on PC since post.

As i did a scan before i tried your suggestion 

I did suggestion as well after. 

I have accepted suggestion

Two days have passed and i would have needed to use scan doctor  today.

Instead i did the CMD prompt suggestion + reset and  scanning worked.
is the the resolution now 

Use CMD prompt instead of scan Doctor when needed 

is there a permeant fix.
