I have an officejet pro 8025.  The app will not acknowledge my printer so I am unable to scan docs

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 is not being acknowledged by the HP Smart app, making it difficult to scan documents, you can follow these steps to resolve the issue:

 

Step 1: Update HP Smart App

 

Ensure the HP Smart app is up-to-date: 1. Visit the HP Smart - Microsoft Store. 2. Click "Download" if there is an update available. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions to update the app.

 

Step 2: Check Network Connection

 

  1. Make sure both your printer and your computer or mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Restart your router to refresh the connection.

 

Step 3: Remove and Re-add Printer

 

  1. In Windows, search for and open Printers & scanners.
  2. Select the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 printer and click Remove device.
  3. Open the HP Smart app, right-click the printer icon, and select Hide Printer.
  4. Re-add the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 printer within the HP Smart app.

 

Step 4: Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

 

Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows: 1. Visit the HP Print and Scan Doctor. 2. Download and install the tool. 3. Run the diagnostic tests to fix connectivity issues.

Step 5: Verify Printer Status

  1. Ensure your printer is turned on and displays a ready status.
  2. Check for any error messages on the printer display panel and resolve them.

 

Step 6: Additional Troubleshooting

 

  • If issues persist, perform a restart of all devices involved (printer, computer, mobile device).
  • Reset the printer's network settings and reconnect to the Wi-Fi network.
