Bonjour a chaque fois que je veux scanner un document par HP Smart scanner non reconnu, je suis obligé a chaque fois de débrancher la prise du scanner et attendre 5 bonne minutes........

Hello, every time I want to scan a document with HP Smart, the scanner isn't recognized, and I have to unplug the scanner and wait a full 5 minutes each time........

Does anyone have a solution before I throw the printer out the window?

Thank you for posting your query.

 

I understand how frustrating it must be especially if you have to power cycle the scanner every time you want to scan. To futher assist you could you please confirm the following:

  • What is the exact HP printer/scanner model?
  • Is the printer connected via USB or Wi-Fi?
  • Does the scanner work from the printer's control panel or with another scanning application, or is the issue only with HP Smart?
  • I would request you to please Install the new HP App and try scanning. https://www.hp.com/us-en/hp-app/overview.html 

With this information, I can guide you through the most appropriate troubleshooting steps. Meanwhile I would reqeust you to please follow the below steps.

 

Power Reset the Printer and Network

  • Turn the printer off.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Turn off your Wi-Fi router for 60 seconds, then turn it back on.
  • Wait until the Wi-Fi is fully restored.
  • Reconnect the printer directly to a wall outlet and power it on.

Restore Network Settings

  • Restore the printer's network settings to factory defaults.
  • Reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network using the Wireless Setup Wizard. {If applicable}
  • Add the printer back to HP App and test again.
