Hi @Greek333

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the situation you’re describing. Thank you for sharing the details about the IP protocol and the scan-to-email message. It helps to know that you’ve already checked the Web Services option and found no settings available to change.

To better understand the issue and identify the right path forward, could you confirm a few points:

  • Which HP printer model are you using?
  • Is the printer connected through Wi-Fi or Ethernet?
  • Have you tried enabling Web Services directly from the printer’s control panel or through the HP App?
  • When you mention the IP protocol not connecting, do you see IPv4/IPv6 showing as disabled in the configuration report, or is there a different status?
  • Has there been any recent change in your router or network setup?

These details will help narrow down whether the issue is with the printer’s network configuration, Web Services setup, or the email profile itself. Once we have this information, we can proceed with precise HP-recommended steps.

Would you be able to share those specifics?

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye

Hi  @Greek333,

Thanks for reaching out!

Thank you for patiently waiting and for sharing those extra details.

I completely understand how it must feel to lose the Scan to Email option after switching your HP 8715/8710 to IP protocol. I’ll do my best to guide you through this.

Here’s the below steps helps in this situation:

  1. Enable Web Services: On your printer’s control panel, go to Setup → Web Services Setup → Turn On. This step is essential because Scan to Email relies on HP’s Web Services.
  2. Check Network Settings: Since you switched to IP protocol, ensure IPv4 is enabled and the printer has a valid IP address from your router. You can print a Network Configuration Page to confirm.
  3. Restore Scan to Email: Once Web Services are active, the Scan to Email icon should reappear under Apps. If not, try updating the printer firmware or re-adding the email profile through the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  4. Firmware Update: Outdated firmware can sometimes cause features to disappear after a network change. Updating ensures compatibility with Web Services.

The good news is that once Web Services are re-enabled, your Scan to Email option should return.

I hope this helps.
