@gbhco, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

To scan both sides of a document using an HP printer with an automatic document feeder (ADF) that supports duplex scanning, follow these instructions:

Prepare the Document:

  • Ensure that the original document you want to scan is placed in the ADF. Make sure it is straight and the paper guides are aligned properly to avoid jams.

Access the Scan Menu:

  • At the printer control panel, select the scan option. This is usually labeled as "Scan," "Scan to Email," "Scan to Computer," etc.

Configure the Scan Settings:

  • Original Sides: Choose the option for "2-sided" if your printer supports it. This setting will ensure that both sides of the document are scanned.
  • Content Orientation: Depending on the content of your document, select either "Portrait" or "Landscape" for the orientation.
  • Image Quality: If needed, adjust settings such as "Sharpness," "Contrast," and "Background Cleanup" to get the best possible scan quality.

Start the Scan:

  • Start the scanning process as per your printer’s instructions. The document should automatically scan both sides if you have enabled the duplex option.

Save or Send the Scan:

  • Once the scanning is complete, you can choose to save the document to a computer, send it via email, or save it in a network folder, depending on the options available on your HP printer.
