@JDFjersey, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

First, try restarting the printer and your network router to refresh the connection. Then, log into the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS) by typing your printer’s IP address into a web browser. From there, navigate to Scan > Scan to Email and check if the email is listed under the saved contacts. If you find it, try deleting and re-adding it. If it’s not there, create a new entry with a slightly different name or variation to bypass the duplicate detection.

Also, check HP Smart if your printer is linked to an account, as email contacts might be stored there. If the problem persists, updating the printer firmware might help Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support
