I lost the icon for the scanner. I woud like to reinstall

@drgeraldmiller Are you referring to the icon on your Windows 10 device? or the scan icon on the printer control panel?

While you respond to that, here's how you add it back to youse desktop screen on Windows 10:

  • Open File Explorer and browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Officejet Pro 8710\bin.
  • Right click on HPScan.exe, select Send to > Desktop (Create shortcut).
  • Here's a video to show you how to create a scan shortcut on the WIn 10 PC:

    Create a scan shortcut and high-resolution scans 
    (The video is for a different printer model, however, the steps should work on yours too)
