After rebooting Dell Latitude with Windows 10, I am unable to Scan from Printer to PC. I can scan by selecting scan from the PC. This happened a few days ago and I wonder if it is because of an update to the firmware.
The following are the steps I have performed:
1) Uninstalled software and reinstalled Software Version 40.15.1230_OJ8710_FullWeb Pack
2) Firmware is WBP2CN2307AR
3) Unplugged power from back of the printer & then unplugged power from wall receptacle
4) I removed the printer from the Devices, rebooted the computer and added the printer again
45 Ran Scan Doctor 5.7.2. The printer activates and scans. and all steps are "checked" as Good.
After Scan Doctor has run, when attempting to scan from printer to PC, the printer gives error message "Connection Required". I have checked the IP address of the printer and it is on the same network .
This just started in the past few days; is it because the Firmware was updated?
Thanks in advance for a resolution

Hi @ark210,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing scanning issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 All-In-One Printer.
I suggest that you follow the steps listed below to enable scan to computer.
1. Open the HP printer software. From the computer desktop, click the Start button, click All apps, select HP, and then select the icon with the printer name.
2. Click Print, Scan & Fax , and then click Scan.
3. Select Manage Scan to Computer.
4. Click Enable.
I hope this helps.

See my previous post for the steps taken which are the steps you suggested.
The issue is after shutting down the Printer and the Computer and rebooting
hours later, I am unable to scan from the printer to the PC. I go to manage scans
in the Printer Assistant and the "Enabled" button has defaulted back to "Disabled"
I do not have an issue printing from PC to Computer; and I can Scan from the PC Printer
Assistant, so the printer is communicating to the Printer.
What else can you suggest....thanks
