As posted on the HP community support page:

Hi

So we downloaded from HP support the "HP Universal Scan - Full Feature Software and Driver", installed the software, and when it listed all available supported hardware (the one we bought), we selected it and continued to finish the installation.

 

HOWEVER, upon running HP Scan (and/or using the scan to computer feature from the device), it threw this error:  "HP Imaging Device was not found."

 

How can it be "not found" when it found it just fine on install?  And how could there be a communication issue between the device and the computer when running "scan to computer" ON the device makes the computer react (with that error)?

PS:  Windows Scan from the Microsoft Store works with the MFP 3301dfw (mostly)

"Scan to Computer" must be enabled before it can be used.

Yes, "Scan to Computer" is enabled.  Still the same problem.


Also:  cannot use HP Scan from the desktop.  Gives the same error.

I also have this same problem.  I was able to scan from the web and that worked ok.  I also tried to scan from Adobe Acrobat and that seemed to cause the printer to error out and literally ask to reboot.  Like OG poster, Scan to Computer is enabled.
