HP Officejet Pro 6830

I have read all forums and saw video how to solve this problem but it is vague.  I can copy from computer to printer although when I tried to do 2 sided copy it would not default back to 1:1 sided copy to print.  I have changed settings and done everything I could to solve the problem.  Could someone help me with a step by step process for me to be able to print again.  It says error like others have also had this problem.  I have upgraded from windows 8 to 10 on the computer.

I did not get a full manual with my product.  I looked up on line and the instructions were not there to default to one sided only.

Hello @Tritonett,

Thanks for showing your interest in the HP Forums! I see that you are having issues switching back to 1 sided copying. I would like to help.

I have provided a document for Copying Documents that you can take a look at.

In the Copy menu, you can save the setting and restore defaults.

  • Copy.
  • Save Current Settings.
  • Copy.
  • Restore Settings.
  • Restore.

If you are still having issues with the copy settings changing, I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer
and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet
rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help
this situation.

Here is a link for the printer's manual: Officejet 6830.

You may have to update the printer's firmware: HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer series Firmware.

Let me know if those steps worked for you. If they did, that’s awesome! Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons, that’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers! Good Luck!

Thank you so much!!  I spent a few hours pulling my hair over this and it was a simple disconnect power cord a a few minutes like you mentioned.  Like a motem or a cell phone; disconnect the power and reboot!!

Thanks again!!

One-sided copy function not working.  I unpluged - waited - repluged into wall but it did not change.  It is still showing 2-sided.
