Do I need additional software or drivers to be able to set document properties (metadata) when I scan to PDF?  I am not using a PDF editor at this time other than what I can do with free version of Adobe Reader DC.  I would like to be able to add properties such as title, subject, keywords, etc as I scan if this is possible.

Hi @rachel-567,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums! I understand that you would like to know more about the scanning features. I would be happy to help you.

You can use the HP Scan Software for scanning to PDF format. I don't believe there is any option for adding titles, etc. It has the option for scanning as editable text files. There might be some third party software that offers those features.

Thank you for your help.   I assume it is correct that you cannot set metadata (PDF document properties) as you scan to PDF using solely the HP scan software since I've had no other responses.   If anyone recommends a particular tool for this purpose, I would like to know.  I dont plan to edit the actual documents I create so I dont need a full PDF editor, but I would like to store some info about the source and subject of the documents.    Adobe Reader does not allow you to edit document properties either.

Hi @rachel-567,

I came across this A-PDF Software that shows what you are looking for, here is the link, if you want to check it out.

Hope it helps. Thanks!

Thanks and this is exactly what I need.  Unfortunately there is a fee for it after the trial period and it puts a watermark on your documents in the meantime.  It is only $35 but if I'm going to buy something I'm going to look a bit more into the other tools available.  Thanks, very much.
