How do I reset the time on this printer? It doesn't sync with the time on my Windows Desktop.

Under settings on the printer's display (gear icon), there isn't a "Preferences," only "Info," and under Fax Settings>Preferences, there isn't an option for "date/time". In fact, the manual doesn't show this option, either. I can't find anything in online help section or in the manual.

you dont have to worry now it will be in sync with the network time. Happy that it worked for you and i'll try to provide feedback to the R&D team so that they can simplify the same in the future releases.

Thank You for your patience 🙂

Hi,

On the front panel you will have set up option along with the scan copy etc.

click on that setup option and you will have preferences

under preferences you will have date and time.

you can set the the date and time here.

Hope this helps

If the "Set up option" you mentioned is the settings (gear icon on the top bar of the screen, there IS NOT a "Preferences" option.

I think I've found our problem: My display is different than the one you've shown. I have looked, but can't find a photo of display to send. Mine does not have the "Setup" as you've displayed on the right, only a gear icon on the header. (Your picture shows a footer).

The firmware Version is PALSUPPPXN003.2010A.00 It is an HP Envy Photo 7858

When I ran a firmware update from HP Support online, it said it was up-to-date.

The manual for 7800's indicate different square icons on the display than I have on mine. The ones on my display are:

COPY      Scan      Photo      Fax       Apps

Also, there are different icons on the header than on the manual: Mine are for

Settings       Wireless       HP Print       WiFi Direct       Instant Ink Status    Phone(fax status)    Eco leaf

Tha manual also says that under the  Settings gear, there is a Power Management option. This is not on mine, either.

Hi,

please try the below steps if the printer is connected to a network,

try get the printer IP address.

you can get the printer ip by printing a network config page.

once you get the IP, open a web browser( IE, edge etc) in the address bar type the ip address of the printer. it will take you to the printer EWS follow the below.

tab Settings > Preferences > Date & Time set the time and save it

Thank you!! I was able to sync time with computer. Do you know if it will stay in sync with daylight time changes or will I have to resync again.

Don't know why this is so difficult to figure out. It should be a simple feature on the printer itself, or at least be an update to the manual or something in the HELP file on printer software or HP online. If appropriate, please pass this along to HP.

And non-technies don't know what an EWS is or that it even exists.

I'd add Kudos/stars, but didn't see anything on the left!

So, any suggestion about how to swipe up and down on the display screens?
