scans from my cannon mx 330 won't save in my file folder

This is likely an issue with the software you are using for the Canon scanner and I suggest that you should check with Canon first as this is not likely a hardware issue with your HP computer. If you recently installed any updates one of them may have corrupted the save path or the credentials. Perhaps Canon has updates for the scanning software.
