I'd be happy to help you set up scanning from your HP Smart Tank 7605 printer directly to your Windows 11 computer.

Install HP Smart App (if not already installed)

This app is essential for managing your printer and enabling scan features.

  • Download from Microsoft Store: HP Smart for Windows
  • Or from HP: HP Smart

Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.

Enable 'Scan to Computer' from HP Smart

Once installed and your printer is added:

  1. Open HP Smart on your PC.
  2. Click on your printer name.
  3. Go to Scan > Settings (gear icon).
  4. Enable Scan to Computer or Webscan (if available).
  5. Save the settings.

Use the Printer Control Panel to Scan

Once enabled:

  1. On the printer’s touchscreen, tap Scan.
  2. Select Computer.
  3. Choose your computer name from the list.
  4. Select Document or Photo, then press Start Scan.

The scanned file will appear in HP Smart or be saved to your default scan folder (usually Pictures > Scanned Documents).

Optional: Use HP Scan Software (Advanced Features)

If you prefer more control over scan settings:

This includes HP Scan, which allows:

  • Multi-page PDF scanning
  • Custom resolution and file formats
  • OCR (text recognition)

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Ensure Windows Firewall or antivirus isn’t blocking HP Smart.
  • Restart both printer and PC if the computer name doesn’t show up.
  • Try a USB connection if Wi-Fi scanning fails.
