my scanner all of a sudden will only scan from glass top and not feeded even though I change to paper feeder

I understand your scanner is only scanning from the glass top and not using the paper feeder. Here are some steps to help resolve this issue:
 

Check for Jams:
 

  • Ensure there are no paper jams in the ADF. Open the ADF access door and remove any jammed paper.


Verify Document Placement:
 

  • Make sure the documents are correctly placed in the ADF input tray. Align them properly to ensure smooth feeding.


Clean the ADF:
 

  • Dust or debris could cause feeding issues. Clean the ADF and separation pad to ensure they are free from obstructions.


Test with Another Document:
 

  • Try scanning different documents to see if the issue persists. Some paper types may not be suitable for ADF scanning.


Check ADF Hardware Connection:
 

  • Ensure the ADF is correctly connected to the scanner. Disconnect and reconnect if needed.


Software and Driver Settings:
 

  • Double-check that the scanner settings are configured to use the ADF. In the scanning software, select the option to scan from the feeder and not the glass.


Restart Devices:
 

  • Restart your scanner and the connected computer to refresh any potential glitches in the system.


Consult Scanning Software:
 

  • Make sure your scanning software settings are correctly set to utilize the ADF. Re-select the ADF option.
