Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

OfficeJet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to scan a very long photo (approximately 30 inches long x approximately 12 inches wide) using the hp desktop software, via the automatic document feeer.  Whether I use "EntireScan Area" or "Detect Photos" settings, the scan stops after about 3/4 of the picture has been scanned, and the rest of the photo is just feed through the scanner quickly without being scanned.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

The photo size exceeds the maximum scan size of the ADF or Flatbed scanner

Here's the specs:

Scan size (flatbed), maximum

8.5 x 11.7 in

Scan size (ADF), maximum

8.5 x 14 in (one-sided); A4, Letter (two-sided)

https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-officejet-pro-6978-all-in-one-printer

Moreover, the ADF is not designed to scan photos, so would advise against using it lest it damages the photo.

Thanks.

Thank you for letting me know that the size of the photo exceeds the maximum ADF scan size and for suggesting that I don't use the ADF to scan a photo.
