HP Scanjet 200
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

When I scan an image 300 DPI resolution or less by using WIA it gives me a corrupted image with horizontal lines .

What shall I do to solve this problem?

First of all, Thank you for your support.

Secondly, I'm sorry to tell you that the scanned image was corrupted with vertical lines not horizontal lines.

Finally, I've got the solution by stopping the windows image acquisition service (WIA) and do a new scanning process with 300 DPI resolution and less by WIA driver but not TWAIN driver.

After that you can restart the windows image acquisition service (WIA) again and do your usual scanning again.

It's working fine now.

Thank you.

Hi @Al-Khaled,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums for a solution to your scanning issue.

I understand that you are using an HP Scanjet 200 Flatbed Scanner with a Windows 7 PC and when you scan an image with 300 DPI resolution or less using WIA you get a corrupted image with horizontal lines. I would like to help with that.

I would start by resetting the scanner. Here is a support document that you can refer to if needed - Resetting the Scanner.

Try performing a scan using the software that came with the scanner to see if you get the same results. If you are unsure how, this document can help - How to scan (Windows).

Please get back to me with your results. Please reply at your convenience.

Thanks.
