Scanjet G3010 Photo Scanner
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have just updated to windows 10 from windows 7. My scanner (Scanjet G3010) no longer works or is shown as a programme or Hardware device, is there an update for the software and drivers available so that I can reload my scanner? If not is there a possible workround available to bring the scanner back into operation.

I have run the Print and Scan Doctor without sucess. However on checking the device properties it states that no Driver is installed. After much searching have found a web site which will supply a driver for the G3010 scanner for use with windows 10. Site is as Follows:- www.filedrivers.com.

I have downloaded the required windows 10 driver the scanner is now fully operational.

I am having the same issue.  When I go to drivers for the scanner on the site there is nothing listed for Windows 10.  Have you had any luck?

Ihave had no luck at all in finding either drivers or software suitable for windows 10. It would seem that HP is no longer going to support this particular photo scanner.

Just to let you know, I went into my HP directory on my hard drive and ran the HP Scan Doctor executable.  It upgraded the version of HP Scan Doctor, and then ran a check and fix.  My scanner now functions again as it used to.  Hope this helps.

Amazing.  I also downloaded and ran the updated version of Print and Scan Doctor and it did not help at all.  It reported that components were missing and I should download and install the latest version from their site (same site as Scan Doctor).  I had already done this but tried again.  The report was something like "This software is no better than the one you have".  Screwed again by HP.

Glad for those who are satisfied.  For me, all I can find are drivers labeled 'basic', e.g. setup_basic_G3010_3.exe.  This allows only scanning pictures (.jpeg, .png, etc.) which is far short of the original software.  There are various drivers with 'full' in the name, e.g. Setup_full_3000_20_0_0_01.exe which do not work at all.  Again, in my opinion, HP just abandons customers.  No surpise the company is struggling.  Too bad.  They have made nice stuff for many years.

Bought this scanner to replace a previous un-supported HP scanner.  Have had nothing but flawless service from it.  Have purchased a new windows 10 machine and the G3010 install disc doesn't contain compatable driver for W10.  Nothing can be found on the HP website either.  Is one available or available from a trusted 3rd party?  If I have to buy yet another scanner it isn't going to be an HP product.

I agree. HP support is almost non-existent.  I threw away my HP scanner.

Fortunately, all in one gadgets are so cheap that I am not going to worry about it.

Just won't buy HP or vote for any one associated with them, past or present.
