@Malama, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you're experiencing issues with the scanner canceling scans on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M29w Printer, there are several troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the problem:

Check Scanner Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the computer via USB or Wi-Fi. Reconnect the cables or check the wireless connection to ensure stability.

Restart Printer and Computer: A simple restart can often resolve many issues. Turn off both your printer and computer, wait for a minute, and then turn them back on.

Update Software and Drivers: Make sure that you have the latest software and drivers installed for your printer. You can download these from the HP Drivers Support.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Unplug the power cord from the printer while it's still on.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the printer and power it on.

Check Scanner Settings: Verify the scanner settings to ensure that they are correctly set for the type of scan you wish to perform.

Try Scanning with Different Settings: Sometimes altering the resolution settings or scan type can resolve scanning issues.

Check for Software Conflicts: Ensure no other software on your computer is conflicting with the HP scanning software.

If none of these solutions resolves the issue, it's recommended to contact HP Support for further assistance.

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
