scanner does not work with printer’s automatic document feeder, only with the flatbed scanner.

My printer is HP Laser Jet Pro M148fdw. My problem is that the scanner does not work with printer’s automatic document feeder, only with the flatbed scanner.   This means multiple PDF files per scan.  I have replaced software several time from scratch.  Any thoughts?

To assist you better, is the automatic document feeder not picking the paper? 

Try making copies from the feeder and check if that works.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your PC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Now, try using the feeder to check the result.
