@satish1978, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Scanner Error 13" on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw typically indicates a communication issue between the scanner assembly and the formatter board, or a hardware malfunction in the scanner mechanism.

Here are the steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Power Reset the Printer

This helps clear temporary hardware glitches.

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and the printer.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.

Check Scanner Bar Movement

  • Open the scanner lid.
  • Press the Copy button.
  • Observe if the scanner light turns on and the scanner bar moves across the glass.
    • If the scanner bar does not move or light up, it may indicate a hardware failure.

Reinstall Printer Software

Corrupted drivers can sometimes cause scanner errors.

  • Remove the printer from your system (Windows/macOS).
  • Download and reinstall the latest drivers using the HP Smart App. HP Smart

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
