@badok, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you encounter a scanner failure with your HP OfficeJet 8022e All-in-One Printer, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Check the Power Connection: Ensure that your printer is plugged into a reliable power source. Avoid using power strips and try plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can often resolve hardware glitches.

Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Use the HP Smart app or visit the HP support website to download and install the latest firmware updates.

Check the Scanner Bed and Document Feeder: Open the scanner lid and ensure that there are no obstructions on the scanner glass or document feeder. Clean the glass and the underside of the flatbed cover with a lint-free cloth dampened with water.

Reset the Printer: Perform a printer reset by unplugging the printer from the wall outlet while it is still powered on. Leave it unplugged for a minute, and then plug it back in.

Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, a free tool provided by HP to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems.

Reinstall the Printer Software: Uninstall the current printer software from your computer, and then reinstall it. Ensure that you have the latest version compatible with your operating system.

Test with a Different Device: Try scanning from a different computer or device to determine if the issue is with the printer or the original device being used.
