I have downloader the drivers, rebooted, looked for additonal drivers but still cannot get laptop to recognize scanner part of HP Deskjet 2130 . The printer and copier works fine. PLEASE HELP.  hours at this .. please be very specific, I didn't grow up with  these electronics but manage to muddle my way through.. thanks!!

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums. 

 

I understand that you have an HP DeskJet 2130 All-in-One Printer and it is unable to scan. I read that it prints and copies fine. Fabulous analysis. Spectacular diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that.

 

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Did any changes take place on the printer after which this issue may have started.
  • What's the operating system that you use?
  • Do you get an error message while trying to scan?

No changes.. the scanner part had never worked.. after this question I continued to work on it. SOMETHING I did worked. I am not sure what. I was trying to go into hardware and sou we but stumbled on something along the way. Maybe in network. Anyway it had option to update drivers of add additional {which I had looked for}. And.. it works!! Thank you
