Hi @sarah544,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP OfficeJet 8030 scanner keeps showing “Scan Cancelled” even after all driver updates. Let’s go through the most effective steps to resolve this issue.

1. Reset the Printer

Turn off the printer.

Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall.

Wait 60 seconds.

Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).

Turn the printer back on.

This clears temporary glitches that can cause scan failures

2. Use HP Smart App’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

Download or open the HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site.

Select your printer > Click the wrench icon (Windows) or printer dropdown (Mac).

Choose Diagnose & Fix and follow the on-screen steps.

This tool can automatically detect and fix scan-related issues.

3. Reinstall the Printer Software

Remove the printer from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.

Go to the HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 All-in-One Printer series | HP® Support.

Download and install the Full Feature Software and Drivers for your OS.

Re-add the printer using HP Smart or Printers & Scanners.

4. Check Scanner Bar Functionality

Open the scanner lid.

Press the Copy button on the printer.

Watch the scanner bar; if it doesn’t light up or move, it may be a hardware issue.

5. Try Scanning from Another App

Use Windows Fax and Scan or HP Scan instead of HP Smart.

If scanning works from one app but not another, the issue may be software-specific.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
