scanner not seeing the loaded page

I just installed a new old stock HP Envy 100 D410a and the scanner is not seeing the loaded page on the flatbed.

I understand you need support and I'll be glad to help you out. However, for an accurate solution, I would need more details:

Are you able to copy documents?

Any error when you try to scan?

How is the printer connected, USB or Wireless?

Are you trying to align the printer?

I was told on the phone by an HP Tech Support person that the light mechanism in the All-in-One is not functioning and as a result is not seeing the paper contents.

I have a few old machines same model in which the scanner works but not the printer. Can I swap parts from one to another?

If its the same model, then those parts will be compatible. If the light is not moving then you probably have to replace the lamp unit motor assembly as well. However, I couldn't locate any instruction on HP Support on how to replace the Scanner Bulb Lamp Unit and motor. I believe there are quite a lot of 3rd party website which has instruction on how to replace them, you may also contact a local printer repair center and check if they can replace it for you.
