Hi @sadie61,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand the scanner on your HP DeskJet 3752 is not pulling the document through when you try to scan. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Confirm the document is loaded correctly
The DeskJet 3752 uses a sheet-feed scanner, not a flatbed.
Insert only one sheet at a time, face up, centered in the scan slot until it lightly touches the rollers.

Check paper type and condition
Use plain, clean paper for scanning.
Curled, glossy, thick, or damaged paper may not be grabbed by the scanner rollers.

Clean the scanner feed rollers
Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water to gently clean the visible rollers in the scan slot, then let them dry.

Power reset the printer
With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer and the wall outlet.
Wait 60 seconds, then plug it directly into a wall outlet and turn the printer back on.

Try scanning from the printer controls or HP Smart
Open the HP Smart app and start a scan from there.
Make sure the printer is awake and not in sleep mode before inserting the paper.

Insert the paper slowly and straight
Feed the page slowly until you feel the rollers try to grab it.
Do not push the paper forcefully, as this can prevent proper pickup.

Check for debris in the scan path
Look inside the scan slot for dust, paper fibers, or foreign objects.
Even small debris can prevent the rollers from engaging.

Test with a different sheet
Try a fresh sheet of plain paper to rule out a paper issue.
If the rollers still do not move at all, it indicates a mechanical feed issue.

I hope this helps.
