psc 2175
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My PSC 2175 was scanning and printing properly.  Since I didn't have the software disc, I scanned using Windows Fax & Scan.  One day while I was trying to scan, the dialog box was taking a very long time to respond, so I quit Windows Fax & Scan using Task Manager.  After that, the scanner head started clicking loudly when the printer was turned on.  I followed some tips on this forum to resolve that issue.  Once I was able to copy using the flatbed, I wanted to scan some documents.  Windows Fax & Scan said no scanner was found.  I downloaded the Windows app "Scan" and it said the same thing.  It recognizes that I have an HP psc 2175, but it does not recognize the scanner.  The scanner works, because I am able to copy, but there's something wrong with the interface between the scanner and my laptop.  I THINK it would help to uninstall the driver and reinstall it, but I am not sure how to even do this, and there might be an easier fix.  Please help!

Thank you so much!  I uninstalled the printer driver, reinstalled it, and everything worked fine.  I still don't have access to HP Photo & Imaging Gallery, probably because the installer couldn't install the "Bing Bar" on my version of Windows.  However, I downloaded the Windows app Scan, and everything is working fine.  Thanks a million!
