Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I have an HP9130e All-In-One Printer and we do a lot of scanning which is less than 3 months old. if we use the ADF with anything more than 2 sheets and it jams up. our old HP could cope with staples removed, folded letters flattened out but this much "better" all in one seems to be incredibly  sensitive making me think either the scanner is faulty or have a just bought the wrong model as, it wastes a huge amount of time.

we use the HP app and then scan to PDF to save letters as PDF.

very disappointed but i see there might be some work arounds in other threads - the instructions for which i was completely unable to follow. i'm not tech phobic as i am always willing to try and fix it. i'm tech allergic in that the "simple" fixes never seem to quite apply to me and so give up. unfortunately, i think i have owned this for too long to be able to send it back as faulty or unacceptable goods.

Welcome to the HP Community --

Sure -

  • The printer might have an individual problem that is not inherent in the model type.
  • The model type might be wrong for your needs.
  • This printer might be hyper-sensitive to paper size / types as used in the ADF as compared to "old printer".
  • The solutions might be too complicated and / or out of your reach.
  • Feeling disappointed is not influenced by printer specifications or "what should be".

I have a 9135e and have not run across the difficulty you describe.

Matters not.

True --

  • The printer ADF might object to paper that includes an unsupported paper surface that grabs or drags.
  • The printer ADF may balk at paper that is too dry, too damp, curled, too thick, too thin, or simply the wrong size (not supported).
  • The ADF surface might be dirty, sticky, or otherwise unsuitable for multi-page scans.

-- If not done --

Consider / Try

If you have the printer plugged into a battery backup or a less than a very robust surge protector, consider plugging the printer into a decent wall socket instead.  Scanning is an intense process.  This does not mean using a surge protector is causing the issue -- Due to the increased power needed for some tasks, plugging the printer into a wall socket can make sense, at least for testing when things are not working as expected.

Next,

Regardless of the relatively newness of the printer,  Clean the ADF

What else?

Check / Adjust the Scan settings or the Scan defaults in EWS

For example, try reducing the resolution to speed up the scan and perhaps reduce drag.
