scanning multi page document to single pdf file

I want to scan a document having 7 pages to a single pdf file having single file name for all 7 pages. Now I have to give different names to each page. There is no facility to combine all these pages to a single file.This document is to be submitted as a single  in web site operated by the government department. This facility is available with cannon and epson sanners. How do I enable this facility in my scanner?

Hi,

Please try

  Double click printer icon on desktop,
  Select Scan a Document or Photo,
  Put the first page on the glass (face down),
  Check options (size, dpi ...), and select Scan document to file,
  Click Scan - machine will scan the first page
  Remove the first page on the glass, put the second page,
  Click + (plus sign) It sits on the left hand side of a red x
  Machine will scan the second page, put 3rd page on the glass and click + again ..... to the end then click Save
  Click Done after Save

How can I create into a pdf file.. Only TIF file noted in the dropdown box..

my printer is HP photosmart premium 

my comuter is MAC

i used to have an option on the scan page on the  screen giving me the option tp select  " single document" prior to starting the scan button 

That option no longer appears on this page.

I have tried shutting off both the computer and the printer few times already 

could someone please help me  i got many pages that have to be scaned to a single pdf document
