Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP ENVY 120
Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

I was able to scan multiple pages into only one PDF. Since last week when I replaced the ink cartridges (both HP) I cannot do it any more. The sacn creates two separate files: same name, one _1 and the other _2. Two separate PDF files. How do I make the scan keep the two pages (or 3, or 4 and so on) in only one PDF file?

I didn't change anything else other than the cartridges.

Welcome @Tche2015,

Thanks for participating in the forums! I see that you are experiencing issues scanning multiple documents to one file on the Mac. I would be happy to help you.

I have provided some steps to double check the settings for the scan to PDF format.

After the scan is done, click on Send in the bottom right corner.

Click folder from the list.

Then near the bottom of the next window, click on the drop down beside Format and select PDF.

(if you want to save multiple files to one folder, uncheck Save all items to a single file beside Contents.

Select the location of where you want to save the file.

Then click Save.

If you are still having issues, Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:

  • Repair Disk Permissions:

    • Click on your desktop so that next to the Apple icon it says Finder, then click on Go (you will see this next to Finder after File,   Edit, and View).

    • Under Go, click on Applications.

    • In Applications, select Utilities.

    • In the Utilities folder, you will see Disk Utility, double-click this icon to open the Disk Utilities.

    • Click on your Hard drive, then click on First Aid. Click Run to allow it to run.

Reset the Printing System:

Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.

Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.

Click Printers & Scanners.

Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.

Click OK to confirm the reset.

Type the correct Name and Password.

Click OK to reset the printing system.

Then click the + sign to add the driver, highlight the printer. (you might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name) Then click on the Add button.

Feel free to click on the "Accept as Solution" and the "Thumbs Up" if this helped. Please let me know the results. Best Regards,
