scanning over the network

i have laserjet MFP m277dw printer/scanner. i was having trouble printing and scanning. So i reinstalled the printer by downloading the installation software available through HP support. The reinstallation process involved connecting over the USB cable. Installation was completed and printer and scanner features are working fine over the USB cable. HOwever, now i want to be able to print and scan over the network. I have a simple home network operating through a simple router. i used the windows printer installation software and got the printer working. But now i cannot get the scanner working. what to do? one part of the problem is that HP support has a downloadable file which works via a USB cable but not by network.

a few added details: i am on Windows 11 OS. I ran the HP smart doctor, but it shows error in device manager. the desktop has  a scan icon which works only with the USB cable

Important information:
1. HP does not support this printer under Win 11, so no support.
2. reconsider your decision to switch USB to WLAN/WiFi.
