I have an HP Officejet Pro 8740. Microsoft windows 10. I have scanned photos with no problem in the past and all of a sudden it wants to scan more than just  the photo. i have no idea what changed or how to change it back.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Can you elaborate more on how you scan photos in the past and now?

Are you using the HP FULL featured software or HP Smart to scan the photos?

This resource shows how to scan multiple photos.

Thanks.

Hi Green Turtle

I didn't change anything. I am on wireless. I put the photo face down on the scanner, walk over to my pc , click on the app, scan photo, save a jpg and it scans as a photo. i could even scan 3 photos at a time and they would scan separate. My thoughts are there was a software update, which I have set to auto, that changed something. Last night I had to crop, which I never had to do before. Is there a way to see what updates happened in the last month. I don't scan many photos so I didnt notice the change until yesterday.

Thanks for your help,

Hi @stephy3856

Can you try using the HP FULL featured software?

Download from this link:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8740-all-in-one-printer-series/790...

Download from Software Utility "HP OfficeJet Pro 8740 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories"

Then after that. follow the resource shared in the earlier post to scan multiple photos.

Hope that helps!

All my drivers and updates are set on auto. I'd rather look for the last update that happened so I can see what changes were made. is there somewhere I can find last updates by date. Like the windows updates. I can go in and read what changes were made incase I have an issue.
