Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Hi @BruceH5,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Scanning multiple pages into a single PDF file using your HP 6520 printer can be done through the HP software installed on your computer. Since the newer desktop link doesn't provide the plus sign to add more pages, you can try using the HP Scan software or HP Smart app, which typically offers this functionality. Here's how you can do it:

Using HP Scan (Windows):

Open HP Scan:

  • Search for "HP Scan" in the Windows search bar and open it.Choose the scan type (e.g., Document to File or PDF).
  • Set the scan settings such as resolution, color mode, and destination folder.Place the first page on the scanner glass and click "Scan."

Add Additional Pages:

  • After the first page is scanned, you should see an option to add another page (e.g., "Add Pages" or a "+" sign).Place the next page on the scanner glass and click "Scan" again.Repeat this process for all pages you want to include in the PDF.

Save the PDF:

  • Once all pages are scanned, click "Finish" or "Save" to save the multi-page PDF.

Using HP Easy Scan (Mac):

  • Search for "HP Easy Scan" in Spotlight or find it in your Applications folder.Choose the scan type (e.g., "Document to PDF").Set the scan settings such as resolution, color mode, and destination folder.Place the first page on the scanner glass and click "Scan."

Add Additional Pages:

  • After the first page is scanned, click the "+" button to add another page.Place the next page on the scanner glass and click "Scan" again.Repeat this process for all pages you want to include in the PDF.

Save the PDF:

  • Once all pages are scanned, click "Done" and save the multi-page PDF.

Using HP Smart App (Windows or Mac):

  • Download and install the HP Smart app from the HP website if you haven't already.Open the app and sign in or create an account if necessary.Click the "Scan" option on the home screen.Choose the scan settings (e.g., document type, resolution).Place the first page on the scanner glass and click "Scan."

Add Additional Pages:

  • After scanning the first page, you should see an option to add another page (e.g., "Add Pages").Place the next page on the scanner glass and click "Scan" again.Repeat this process for all pages you want to include in the PDF.

Save the PDF:

  • Once all pages are scanned, click "Save" or "Save as PDF" to save the multi-page document.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
