Welcome to the HP Support Community!

You have to change the source from flatbed to automatic feeder (ADF) in the scan software.

thanks ior that suggestion but i have done that numerous times without the feeder pulling the documents in the feeder slot.

What is displayed on the printer control screen when you feed an A4 sheet into the ADF?

Ohj ... what is the printer name?

Seems as though it appears to now be working. Perhaps the scan I was trying to feed had a corner folded????

Or you have not pushed the sheet far enough into the ADF. Because the display shows that there is now a document in the ADF.
