Most of the time the touch screen doesn't respond by just using a finger.  It works OK if I use a stylus

Hi! @RileyBailey, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand that touch screen does not work using a finger on your printer.

As you mentioned that touch screen works fine using the stylus.

Try applying sufficient pressure on the touch control panel to work.

If the issue persists try updating printer firmware from this link.

I'll keep an eye out for your response.

I hope you have a great day! 🙂

Hi! @RileyBailey, thanks for the response.

I understand that touchscreen is still not working using the finger.

As you mentioned that you were unable to install the firmware.

Try installing full feature driver from this link then try updating the firmware.

I'll watch your reply!

DO NOT.....I REPEAT DO NOT.....LET ME SAY IT A-G-A-I-N..."DO NOT PURCHASE AN HP PRINTER!!!!!!!!!".

Let me start off by saying that I have been a LOYAL HP person since 1992!!!  That is TWENTY FOUR YEARS I have had nothing but

I bought a new HP Printer at Sam's in Texarkana, Tuesday, November 30. Installed it Wednesday. Immediately I noticed the 'touchscreen' was wonky. Googled it. Did the hard reset. Did the Firmware update. Same thing...touch screen would not respond when I tried to input anything from the Qwerty keyboard. I have just now spent nearly TWO HOURS on the phone with HP Tech support. I jumped through all the hoops...I do have to say it's NOT the tech support guy's fault. It was his "Supervisor" instructing him what I needed to:

1) "observe" it for a few days....  ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

2) have someone else try to input from the keyboard BESIDES ME

3) perfrom TWO more HARD resets (we'd already done two already1!).

i TRULY FELT SORRY FOR THE TECH I WAS TALKING TO.  When I ask what the supervisor's name was....he couldn't find it said...I asked him to look under STUPID...it might be there.  You've got to realize I'd been on the phone nearly TWO hours by this time.  The level of frustration was sky high!!

Needless to say, after jumping through all the hoops...guess what?  The touchscreen still did not work!!!! Gee....ya think?  I've never seen a firmware update or a reset instantly cure a bad touchscreen....

We were on the phone nearly TWO hours!  I am still on the phone.....this time with the 'hardware specialist' who is going to send me a REFURBISHED one.  Of course, I have to pay $20 for FedEx to get it here next week instead of week after next!

I have stood by HP through all the garbage of bad reviews & how terrible there tech support has gotten.  I've been really lucky being able to figure out most of the tech problems myself.  I'll read a manual for two days & try EVERYTHING before I call tech support...I would rather shoot myself in the foot than call tech support!!!!

Never again....they've cured me this time!!!

So sad...HP used to be a fantastic product!!

Using a sytlus instead of my fat finger makes me happy as a pig in a mud wallow.  The sytlus cost me 55 cents.

It won't even respond with a stylus, sadly.  Thanks!!
