@Donzzzz,

Welcome to our HP Community Forum!

If your HP Officejet Pro 8620 is consistently scanning documents and saving them as PDF files, you can change the scan settings to save the scanned documents in a different format, such as JPEG or TIFF. Here's how you can do that:

  1. Load your document: Place the document you want to scan into the scanner's document feeder or on the scanner glass.

  2. Access the scan settings: On the printer's control panel or through the accompanying software on your computer, find the scanning options.

  3. Select the desired format: Look for an option that allows you to choose the file format for your scanned documents. It might be labeled as "File Type," "Output Format," or something similar. Typically, you can choose between PDF, JPEG, TIFF, and other formats.

  4. Choose JPEG or TIFF: Select either JPEG or TIFF as the output format, depending on your preference. JPEG is a common image format, while TIFF is a high-quality image format often used for scanning.

  5. Adjust other settings (if needed): You may have additional settings to configure, such as resolution (dpi), color mode (color or grayscale), and compression. Adjust these settings according to your requirements.

  6. Start the scan: Once you've configured the settings to your liking, start the scanning process.

  7. Save the scanned document: After the scan is complete, you should be prompted to choose a location to save the scanned document. Make sure to specify the file name and directory where you want to save it.

By following these steps, you should be able to scan your documents and save them in a format other than PDF, such as JPEG or TIFF, depending on your preference and the options available on your HP Officejet Pro 8620 printer.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
