I have an OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer and after changing the black ink cartridge is now erroring with a print head error.  I've tried all the suggestion I can find to fix it but it's still no good.  I've purchased another printer but it's scanning functionality isn't as useful as the 8600.

My question is, how can I continue to use the 8600 just for scanning?  I can't use the screen on the printer currently because the print head error message won't go away.
