A sample would help to determine the issue. Most common is dirt on the slit glass that the ADF uses, this is typically to the left of the main scanner glass. You can test if this is the problem by copying or scanner from the flatbed instead of the ADF. No lines from the flat glass means you have dirt in the ADF optical path. If you get the same lines when scanning from the flat glass, you have either a hardware failure or corrupt OS on the printer. Perform a factory reset and then ensure that your firmware is up to date.
