webscan disabled

i am unable to scan from printer to computer. states login to HP printer account and when  doing such it says webscan disabled. tried to follow all steps: settings, security, administrator, enable webscan then click apply.  however there is not an option to enable webscan. how do i obtain scan abilities

Scan to Computer - Scan at Printer > Send content to Computer 

Scan to Computer requires having installed the Full Feature / full driver printer software on your Printer and (then) using the Printer Assistant shortcut icon on the Desktop (installed with the printer software) to Enable the Manage Scan to Computer feature.

OR

------------------------------------------------------------------

Webscan / Web Scan - Run in the Embedded Web Server (EWS) using your Browser. 

No additional printer software is needed. 

First time use requires that you enable the Feature in EWS security.

Scan to Computer

If your computer is running a supported version of Windows for which there is full driver printer software,

and

If you install the full driver printer software (Full Feature Software) on your computer

and Restart the computer and log in

and Next,

If you use the Printer Assistant shortcut icon on your Desktop enable the Manage Scan to Computer feature,

Printer Assistant shortcut > Print, Scan & Fax > Tab Scan > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable

then

You can use "Scan to Computer" at your Printer Control Panel.

NOTE: Webscan / Web Scan is not available on Laser printers

If the printer is on the network,

If the EWS feature is available on your printer,

First Time Use Only - Standard EWS - Enable Webscan

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Security > Administrator Settings > Enable >> Check box next to Webscan

Click Apply to save any changes

Use Webscan

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Scan > Webscan 

Set up Webscan the way you want it - for example, set the Source to ADF

Click Start Scan to scan your document / image using Webscan

After the scan is complete, Save the scan to your computer.
