Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Hi - I would like to scan from my printer to my computer (app on the printer) but it doesn't work. When I go to  printer setting (HP Smart app) it says that webscan is not possible.

Can you please help? Thanks

Hi,

Using webscan is possible from a web browser through a network connection only, not from the HP Smart app.

Swipe down the top bar of the printer and tap the Ethernet or Wireless icon, then take a note of the IP Address.

From any web browser, open this IP Address from the Address Bar and then access Webscan.

With the HP Smart app, you may scan using the Scan function of the app

Also, be sure to enable Webscan under Settings > Security > Administrator Settings, it is disabled by default.
