I need to scan from my printer to my computer.  I don't think this function is set up. Please help

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

 

There are a few steps needed to enable Scan to Computer.

 

1. Download and Install the HP FULL featured software from this link

This resource will show you how.

HP has made some changes to the Software download path, you will need to select the Software - Utility and download "HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 Print and Scan Driver and Accessories"

 

2. After successful installation of the FULL featured software, follow the steps below to enable Scan to Computer.

 

How to Scan to Computer

Once you have installed the software:

1. Click on the printer Icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant.
2. Under the Scan menu, there is a “Manage Scan to Computer”, click on that.
3. Make sure that you “Enable” Scan to Computer. Also make sure the tab “Automatically start Scan to Computer when I log on to Windows” is checked if you want to make this feature permanent. (the following video will show you how)

I am having the same issue.  I have a Mac PC with the latest software.  Did the answer to you received online work for you?

 

When I tried to install the drivers and software it would only install the HP Smart App which only seems to work from the computer.  The only HP Software that the website will let me instal for this 9010 printer is the Smart App and not HP Utility or anything else.

 

I previously had an 8600 printer but it died.  I could scan/copy etc directly from the printer by pressing the icons on the printer touchscreen and it would enable me to scan to the computer or email the scan etc.  When I try doing this on the 9010 is says to open a web browser on my computer and when I did that my computer would not let it advance to the next step.  Very frustrating.  I thought getting an HP again would be easy, but it's not.
