Officejet Pro 8025
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Quirky issue that I can't narrow down. I recently replaced an aging workstation with a new Dell. Both machines had Win10 x64.  I installed the full software package and everything works great except that I cannot scan to Email. When I try to, the printer scans the document, and then when I click the "send" button to tell the HP scanning software to handoff to Outlook, it does nothing other. Has anyone seen this and know of a resolution? I feel like I am running around in circles.

@chuckrapp73, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.

Also, try to reset the scan to email settings on the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I downloaded the firmware updater from the OJP 8025 product page. Ran the update program and it says that the printer already has the most up to date software. It's such a weird issue. If I bring the old PC in and reconnect, it works perfectly. Seems like it's missing something on this end.

Thanks for replying!

Have you tried resetting the scan to email on the printer? If no, try that.

Keep me posted.

I couldn't find where to reset scan settings on the printer, so I did a factory reset. I also tried uninstalling HP Scan, and reinstalled, and then i uninstalled Office 2019 and reinstalled it. Thought maybe that might help but nada. I am still at square one.

Here is a pic of the Scan settings that show that it should be going to Outlook. The video clip is of what happens when I click the "Send" button.Scan1.jpg

I also just tried doing a complete uninstall of Office 2019 using MSft's Office removal tool. Restarted the PC and reinstalled Office 2019. Problem is still there. Also, I am able to right click on a document on my desktop and select "send to" and it attached to an Outlook message. So that functionality is working outside of the HP Scan software, so it seems to be a problem with the HP Scan software.

@chuckrapp73, thank you for the detailed response. Let us try these steps:

There are 2 ways to setup Scan to Email feature. Either from the Full-featured software or from the EWS page of the printer.

Watch this video to know how to set it up using the software.

To set it up on the EWS page of the printer, watch this video.

Note: This video is not from HP and is from a third party channel on YouTube.

Let me know how this goes.

The printer that I am having issues with is not a LaserJet. It is an Officejet, and the EWS is much less feature rich. I can find nowhere to set this up scanning, other than some very basic options under the Scan column.  I wish that I had bought another brand.
