Hello, I got a little hp sprocket printer for Christmas probably 5 years ago now. I was able to print one photo and I've never been able to since. Since the app has updated, it seems like it's almost ready to work but I keep running into a connection problem. In the app it looks like I'm fully connected, and when I go to settings, the sprocket printer is at the top of my connections list as if it's connected, but when I select it and go to hit connect, the button does nothing. Its clearly registering that I click it but it doesn't look like it trie to connect and there's no disconnect option, but in the app it still says I'm connected. When I try to print a picture, I get a pop up saying there's a connection problem. Has anyone else encountered this and solved the problem? Id love to use this printer again.

Hi @Ratzgurl,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble connecting your HP Sprocket to your Google Pixel phone, especially if the connection seems to be recognized but doesn't work for printing, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Check Compatibility:
- Make sure that your HP Sprocket model is compatible with the version of the HP Sprocket app you're using. Check the HP website for any updates or compatibility issues.
2. Update the HP Sprocket App.
- Open the Google Play Store on your Pixel phone.Search for "HP Sprocket" and check if there’s an update available.
- If an update is available, install it and try connecting the printer again.
3. Update Phone’s Software
- Go to Settings > System > Advanced > System update.Check for any available updates and install them if needed.
4. Restart Devices:
- Turn off your Google Pixel phone.Power off the HP Sprocket.Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn the devices back on.
5. Reset Printer’s Bluetooth Connection:
- Turn off the HP Sprocket.Hold down the power button for about 10 seconds until the printer’s light blinks rapidly.Release the button to reset the Bluetooth connection.
6. Re-pair the Printer with Your Phone:
- Go to Settings on your Google Pixel.Navigate to Connected devices > Bluetooth.
- Find the HP Sprocket in the list of paired devices, tap the settings icon (gear), and select Forget.Open the HP Sprocket app and follow the prompts to re-pair the printer.
7. Clear the HP Sprocket App Cache:
- Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps.Find and select the HP Sprocket app.Tap Storage > Clear cache.
8. Ensure Bluetooth Is Enabled:
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your Google Pixel phone.
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and ensure the Bluetooth icon is active.
9. Check Printer Battery Level:
- Make sure your HP Sprocket has enough battery power. If the battery is low, charge it fully before attempting to connect.
10. Reset Network Settings (if applicable):
- Sometimes resetting network settings on your phone can help resolve connectivity issues.Go to Settings > System > Reset options.
- Select Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
11. Reinstall the HP Sprocket App:
- Uninstall the HP Sprocket app from your Google Pixel.Reinstall it from the Google Play Store.
- Open the app and attempt to connect the printer again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
