I have a HP 5740 printer that has been working just fine for some time now. However, has suddenly stopped working. On the printer screen, it says "There is a problem with the printer. Turn the printer Off, then On." I have done this several times but nothing has helped. Sometimes, I have to unplug it for the printer to turn off. I recently upgraded my iMac operating system to IOS Sequoia 15.1. The printer seemed to be fine for a while but then I could not scan to my computer. The printer says no computer found. However, the print dialog box on my Mac shows the printer is connected but that it is out of paper. I'm wondering if all this is related to the IOS upgrade on my iMac. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Hi @LAman21 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
There are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord from the back, and wait for about 60 seconds. Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on. This simple step can sometimes clear up temporary errors.
Check for Obstructions: Make sure there are no paper jams or other obstructions in the printer. Open the printer access door and check for any debris that may be blocking the path of the print carriage.
Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually find firmware updates on the official HP website. Follow the instructions provided by HP to update the firmware.
Reset the Printer: Perform a reset on the printer. The method for resetting the printer may vary, so consult your printer's manual for specific instructions on how to perform a reset.
Check for Software Issues: Ensure that the printer drivers and software on your computer are up to date. If necessary, uninstall and reinstall the printer software.
Inspect the Print Cartridges: Check if the print cartridges are properly installed and securely seated in their respective slots. Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure they are properly connected.
Perform a Hard Reset: Turn off the printer, and disconnect the power cord, and any other cables connected to it. Wait for a couple of minutes, then reconnect all the cables and turn the printer back on.
Note: This could be compatibility issues with your current OS.
