Newest version of the Sproket software off Google Play . I am on Android device version 14 (Samsung s21+) .

I had older sprocket (2x3 from 2017 HP Sprocket Firmware1.1.5 ) and software.

I then updated the HP Sprocket software recently and installed a new HP Sprocket  3x4 as well .

The system sees both printers fine but i got a notification to update the 3X4 firmware-went smoothly and completed without an issue....

Next i get a notice that the Sprocket 2x3 needs a firware upgrade....NO DICE it gets started and then errors out (while the printer light is flashing white ) "Printer Disconnected" Firmware could not be installed because your printer disconnected from the application. Please reconnect and try again (then the printer lights on the 2x3 blink red 4 times and then goes back to blinking white ....???

What does it mean it disconnected from the application?? Why does the light go from steady to white  blink and then to red and back to white????...it is still fully charged, it is still connected to the phones BT, and after i hit okay , i try to go back in the app itself and it wont load  and if i hit back far enough to see both printers it wont let me select anything and the app poops out and crashes.......

How do i update the firmware on this device?

Hi @yesiamsassy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're encountering several issues while trying to update the firmware for your HP Sprocket 2x3 printer. Here are some steps and suggestions you can try to resolve this.

  • Restart Everything: Start by restarting both your HP Sprocket 2x3 printer and your Samsung S21+ phone. This can often resolve connectivity issues.
  • Check Bluetooth Connection: Ensure that the Bluetooth connection between your phone and the HP Sprocket 2x3 is stable. Sometimes, even though it shows connected, there might be connectivity issues causing disruptions during firmware updates.
  • Clear App Cache: Go to your phone's settings, find the HP Sprocket app, and clear its cache. This can help in cases where the app is not functioning properly due to cached data.
  • Update HP Sprocket App: Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Sprocket app installed on your Samsung S21+. Sometimes, app updates include bug fixes that can resolve issues with firmware updates.
  • Reinstall HP Sprocket App: If clearing the cache doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Sprocket app. This can help in fixing any corrupted files that might be causing the app to crash.
  • Factory Reset the HP Sprocket 2x3: As a last resort, you can try factory resetting your HP Sprocket 2x3 printer. This will reset all settings, including Bluetooth connections. To do this, usually, you press and hold the power button until the LED lights turn off, and then turn it back on.

Try these steps sequentially and see if they resolve the issue with updating the firmware on your HP Sprocket 2x3 printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
