Hi there,
I have just received a sprocket select as a gift and after charging it for one night, the charge state LED remains amber. As soon as I unplug the unit shuts off. I assume the battery is depleted, is there a way to get a replacement battery?
Although the printer turns on when plugged in I am unable to update the firmware through the sprocket app. I have tried multiple times and every attempt failed. I’m currently on iOS 18.5 just for your info.
I would love to have this printer working as I have just bought 150 sheets of photo paper for this. Please let me know my options. Thank you!
I have attached a screenshot of the printer details in this inquiry.

@WillPeng, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Battery Issue (Amber LED & Shuts Off)
Use Official Cable: Make sure you're using the original charging cable and adapter.
Try Charging Longer: Leave it plugged in for a few more hours and see if the LED turns green.
Reset the Printer: Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds to reset it.
Check with HP Support: If the battery is still not charging, you may need a replacement battery from HP.
2. Firmware Update Issue
Charge the Printer: Ensure the printer has at least 50% battery or is plugged in before updating.
Update the App: Make sure the HP Sprocket app is updated to the latest version.
Restart Devices: Restart both the printer and your iPhone, then try the update again.
Reinstall the App: Uninstall and reinstall the HP Sprocket app on your iPhone.
Clear Bluetooth Cache: Forget the printer in Bluetooth settings and reconnect it.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
