I bought a used HP sprocket plus from Amazon. I plugged it in about 2 hours ago and it will not turn on. The light is red and no matter how long I hold the power button down for, it will not turn white. Should I return the printer? Is it a faulty product?

Hi @Srt123,

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

I’m sorry to hear your HP Sprocket Plus isn’t powering on. It’s especially disappointing when you’ve just received it and were excited to use it. Let’s go through a few quick steps to see if we can revive it before considering a return.

1. Use a Different Charger and Cable

  • Use a certified USB charger (5V/2A) and a high-quality micro-USB cable.
  • Plug it directly into a wall outlet (not a laptop or power bank).
  • Let it charge for at least 90 minutes.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Press and hold the power button for 10–15 seconds.
  • Release and wait a few seconds.
  • Try powering it on again.

3. Check for Firmware Recovery

  • If the device is recognized by your phone via Bluetooth, try opening the HP Sprocket app.
  • If prompted, update the firmware.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved, and if you feel this reply was helpful, click “Yes”.
