Hi @Erin494,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're encountering a queue or connectivity issue with your HP Sprocket Studio. Here are a few things to try.

Restart the Printer and App:

  • Turn off the HP Sprocket Studio, wait for a few seconds, and turn it back on.
  • Close the app completely and restart it.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Check if there is an active print job stuck in the queue. Go to the print settings or print management section of your device and cancel any pending print jobs.

Check Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Connection:

  • If using Bluetooth, ensure your device is connected to the printer and within range.
  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure both the printer and your device are connected to the same network.

Update Firmware and App:

  • Ensure both the HP Sprocket Studio and the app on your device are up-to-date.

Reboot the Network (if using Wi-Fi):

  • Restart your router and the printer to resolve any network-related issues.

Try a Different Device:

  • If possible, try printing from another device to see if the issue persists.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, you might want to reset the printer settings and reconfigure it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi, I think it might be more of an app problem than the printer, I tried all of the above to no avail. I uninstalled the app multiple times, finally, with the app uninstalled, I ‘forgot’ both printers linked to it, and then reconnected just this one and it is now working, but I have not tried printing again from the second printer since. It started having this issue shortly after hooking yo the second printer.

Hi @Erin494,

Thank you for your response,

Since the initial troubleshooting didn't resolve the issue, we can try some advanced troubleshooting steps to address potential underlying problems. Here's a step-by-step approach.

Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults

Performing a factory reset can clear any configuration issues that might be causing the problem:

  1. Turn off the HP Sprocket Studio.
  2. Press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds until the LED blinks, indicating a reset.
  3. Reconnect the printer to your device and try again.

Reinstall the App and Clear App Cache (Android/iOS)

Uninstalling the app may leave cached files behind. Fully clearing these files ensures a clean reinstallation:

  • For Android:
    1. Go to Settings > Apps > HP Sprocket App > Storage & Cache.
    2. Clear both cache and storage.
    3. Reinstall the app from the Google Play Store.
  • For iOS:
    1. Uninstall the app.
    2. Restart your iPhone/iPad.
    3. Reinstall the app from the App Store.

Reassign Printer Roles

The issue might stem from having multiple printers configured simultaneously. Remove all previously linked printers from the app and reassign one at a time:

  1. Open the HP Sprocket App.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Printers and remove all linked printers.
  3. Reconnect only the printer you wish to use for now.
  4. Test with the other printer afterward.

Check for Interference

If the issue began after adding the second printer, interference or conflicting settings may be to blame:

  • Power off the second printer temporarily.
  • Use the first printer exclusively to ensure it works consistently.
  • Reconfigure the second printer only after confirming stability with the first.

Manually Update Printer Firmware

Ensure the firmware is up to date:

  1. Connect the HP Sprocket Studio to your device.
  2. Open the HP Sprocket App.
  3. Navigate to Settings > Firmware Update and install any available updates.

Test Printing with a Clean Slate

  1. Remove all pending print jobs from the print queue on your device.
  2. Perform a test print using the HP Sprocket App with minimal interference (e.g., no Bluetooth devices nearby).
  3. If successful, try adding the second printer and testing again.

Troubleshoot via HP Support Tools

If these steps don’t resolve the issue:

  • Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows/Mac) for diagnostics.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
